I think they are also drastically reducing the number of your followers who see your post — curated or not.

I worked my way up to 1k followers and would average 3 to 10 fans a post just by self-publishing without a pub AND without curation.

Now I’m lucky if 10 people see these posts. And the change was so quick, from one week to the next that it was shocking. But I can track the decline — it’s pretty jarring.

I’m relatively new here and now I don’t know just how much effort I should put into the site. I’m gonna stick to my 90-day plan and see how it shakes out, but yeah the changes are frustrating.

Also, Medium was supposed to be a break from my normal freelance writing I don’t want to pitch and submit to pubs and deal with editors and waiting for a response etc. etc.

There are better returns on time if I have to do that to make any headway on this site than posting here.
