lol.
You’re talking about me. That’s fine. But you woefully miss the point to throw shade. So let’s clarify some things:
- I’ve been writing on Medium for 2 weeks
- I started with 346 followers b/c this is an old account I forgot about
- I now sit at 541 — almost 200 more or 100 a week
- As my followers increase, I now am almost guaranteed to have views and claps on whatever I post — even those things that don’t get curated.
- Medium allows you to follow 125 a day — of that about 5 to 10% will follow you back — I actually do quite better than that.
- I boast a 50 to 60% curation rate (minus those articles that didn’t qualify for curation for a variety of reasons)
- I 7x my total earnings in 1 week and made more in 2 weeks than many of the writers who’ve been writing a lot longer than me made in a month.
- I am incredibly generous with the commenting and the clapping as I spend quite a bit of time doing that each day as well. It’s not just about the following.
- There is a method to my madness even if you don’t agree with it.
That is all. I know people don’t agree with a high volume of following, but I’m a firm believer that you should hit 1k followers as quickly as you can as it eases some of the burden of worrying about curation or getting into top publications.
