The Trump Administration Continues Their Climate Change Denier Cosplay at G7 Summit

WIth an emergency climate change meeting called, President Trump was nowhere to be found.

The Administration had already made it clear they weren’t here for any climate change talk when they questioned why such a “niche” topic was being discussed at the G7 summit at all.

So it really didn’t come as a surprise when President Trump skipped the emergency climate change meeting at the G7 Summit and sent staff instead.

Here is CNN showing Trump’s empty chair at the meeting today as all the other G7 leaders are present.

When questioned why the president missed the emergency climate meeting, the Trump administration said it was because they had important meetings to attend with India and Germany, though India’s and Germany’s leaders were in the meeting.

Go figure.

With the Amazon burning, the insect apocalypse upon us and the Arctic melting faster than normal, the Trump administration continues their willful ignorance by denying the very real existence of the impending climate disaster.

But hey, at least the president suggested the next G7 Summit be held at his hotel.

American exceptionalism for the win.
