I can’t — but this is the sort of bad advice for writers and creatives that make it difficult for people to take our work seriously and get paid for what we do.

Writing, art, they are vocations. Trade and skills just like any other and you should, by all means, seek to get paid AND think about the money when creating — creating, whatever the form, are viable careers, but they aren’t when folk perpetuated drivel like this and those who don’t know or beleive they can make a living at this read it and eat it up.

You are doing all creatives a disservice with this type of advice.
